11/8/01 Cleaning of .eps maps created by http://www.aquarius.geomar.de/omc/omc_intro.html Use Ghostview to unpack the .ps.gz file, and save is to file.ps Use MS Word to remove the following: %%Pages: 1 -- about 8 lines down %%Page: 1 1 -- on p. 3 .............. 3/30/02 The map site now seems to be http://www.deasy.psu.edu/omc/make_map.html The .eps file now does not appear to have the offending %%page lines 4/8/02 The deasy site seems to have changed their output formats! .eps files are no longer available -- but the primary images are .jpg files that can be captured from the screen..... 4/20/02 The deasy map czar is Marty Gutowski, gutowski@essc.psu.edu. He has restored the "good" version of the mapping program at http://www.gouldcenter.psu.edu/omc/postscript.html That is, this version again creates .ps.gz files that are very crisp -- but still need a little editing... ........... The resulting .eps file will appear rotated by 90 in PcTeX, but appears properly in the .pdf file created by dvipdfm. However, the image is blank when using LaTeX on the viper.....
