VScom PCI driver selection

Home, Products

The drivers here are organized based on the operating system. Since the normal way to get to this page is via the products list, here are reference points for different products. Thus it may happen to have different entries for the same operating system.

VScom PCI cards (H-, L- and S-Series)

Windows 95
This system detects the PCI hardware via Plug&Play mechanisms. Thus the driver is requested on demand by the system. Just direct Windows to the directory Win95/PCI_Driver on this CD-ROM.

Windows 98
This system detects the PCI hardware via Plug&Play mechanisms. Thus the driver is requested on demand by the system. Just direct Windows to the directory Win98/PCI_Driver on this CD-ROM.

Windows ME
This system detects the PCI hardware via Plug&Play mechanisms. Thus the driver is requested on demand by the system. Just direct Windows to the directory WinME/PCI_Driver on this CD-ROM.

Windows NT 4.0
The drivers are installed via the separate installation program Install. Just run it from this place. As usual you need full administrators rights to install drivers.

Windows 2000
This operating system detects the PCI hardware via Plug&Play mechanisms. Thus the driver is requested on demand by the system. Just direct Windows to the directory Win2000/PCI_Driver on this CD-ROM. However, Windows 2000 should find the appropriate driver by its own search mechanism.

Linux
There are different drivers available for different kernels. You'll find them at this place, you may use the automatic configuration program or you may do the manual installation as described in a FAQ document.

Windows 3.11
Installation of parallel ports requires VSPCIDOS. Serial ports may be installed in different ways, all need the special driver provided here. Windows 3.11 relies on DOS for configuration, so please study the DOS-installation first.

DOS
Please read our FAQ to operate the PCI ports in DOS. If you want to program the serial ports by yourself, there is a software skeleton saved on this CD-ROM. Also the data sheets of some UART types are included.

OS/2
Only one port per card may be operated with the OS/2 included driver. To support more than 4 ports and IRQ-sharing, a solution from shareware is available. This necessary shareware software is available from the authors website and must be registered there. For your convenience the latest official version 2.01 is stored on this CD-ROM. Support of PCI is provided, as well as other excellent features. If you like to distribute it yourself, only the complete ZIP-file may be sent.
There have been old instructions for the previous version of the driver. These are part of our FAQ, so please read the OS/2 section. The mentioned tools are included on this CD-ROM. The previous (and now obsolete) official version 1.60d is also stored on this CD-ROM.
